Bento 886 is a little Taiwanese bento place with tasty food choices. It tucks in a small plaza across Hwy-7 from Papa John's next to the Volvo dealership. It's a food court/ self service style eatery in a store. Good for take-outs but you can dine-in. They have a number of tables and seats. Good selections of appetizer. The bento bowl has a good portion. Cashier is nice. Easy meal. I like it. Recommended.

Popped into this place for a quick bite to eat and I really enjoyed the food. The three cup chicken was really flavorful and the Taiwanese popcorn chicken was fried really well. The squid tentacles were also fried quite well too. I like how a lot of the Bento boxes come with an egg and it's not an extra component you have to pay for. The vegetables that came with the rice were also very enjoyable and I found the portions well sized. The stuff are really nice and the service was quick too. I'll definitely be coming here again.

Finally visited this place serving authentic Taiwanese food! I highly recommend the Signature 886 bento, it gives you a bit of everything and the portion is pretty generous! Besides everything you see in the picture of the bento you also get a serving of popcorn chicken on the side with it! You can easily share one order with two persons. Their braised mince pork was soooo good and brought me down memory lane as I had the same in Taiwan. Out of all the places I had Taiwanese food this place really nails the taste! It’s to no surprise either during my dining there’s a constant flow of customers - people vote with their wallets! Will definitely come again!

From the moment my husband and I walked in, we were greeted with a nice welcoming smile. Their food was awesome, freshly made & had lots of options. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone around the Highway 7 & Kennedy road area in Markham, Ontario. I’m telling you guys you won’t regret it. There is a decent amount of seating but this place does get busy so please be patient with the the employees.

Located right beside Highway 7, this tiny Taiwanese Bantou restaurant offers a simple yet satisfying dining experience. It’s mostly a counter-service place with many customers opting for take-out. The menu may be limited, but every dish packs a punch of authentic Taiwanese flavors. I had the chance to try their signature dishes, and the taste was amazing. The flavors are rich, comforting, and spot-on — just like you’d get from a homey spot in Taiwan. My son ordered the salt and pepper chicken and couldn’t get enough of it. It was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Despite its size, this place does a great job with what they offer, serving up a genuine taste of Taiwan. If you’re looking for something authentic, this is definitely worth a visit. Just be prepared for a small, no-frills environment. Tip: Ideal for a quick bite or take-out when you’re craving authentic Taiwanese food

Coworker and I were curious about this place, so we gave it a try! I got the signature bento (has a bit of everything) and she had the chicken bento. The chicken is served in a paper bag separately. The food is excellent, everything is very flavourful and not greasy. The winter melon drink is refreshing. Restaurant is clean, has TV with Taiwanese programs. Parking lot is limited, we got there at 11:30am to avoid traffic, that stretch of Hwy 7 is nuts

Bento 886 is as close as I remember Taiwan tasted like in my childhood - yes, more than Hualian Tai Ping Hsiang in Metro Square on Steeles. The Taiwanese fried chicken steak here was much more authentic than the other “Taiwanese” fried chicken spots like AiTaiker & Monga. It was well marinated in white pepper and sweet soy sauce, coated with chunky potato starch, then deep fried to perfection - juicy and crispy. Eating it brought me back to the memory of me (6 years old), standing in a busy night market in Taiwan, holding one chicken steak in one hand and one bubble tea in the other, hanging out with friends and family I no longer talked to. It made me homesick and nostalgic a lot. The popcorn chicken here was also very authentic—the fragrance of the deep-fried Taiwanese/Thai basil fused in the chicken, along with a single bamboo stick to eat it. Great stuff. The only minor thing was that the popcorn chicken was a bit dry, especially compared to its chicken steak. The oyster fry was another of my favourites. Juicy and sweet like what oyster tastes like in Taiwan. I hope they also serve Taiwanese oyster omelette one day - one day. The price-to-value ratio at Bento 886 was also excellent. The bento box was incredibly filling, full of delicious veggies like stir-fried bean sprouts, napa cabbage, braised minced pork, seasoned corn, a braised egg, and protein of your choice on the side. Each bento is priced at 13.50, which is highly reasonable. The interior of the shop was very nice, too. They included many Taiwanese elements, like old movie posters, while playing Taiwanese variety shows on TV (something I watched a lot with family on Saturday nights in Taiwan) and Gaji bags, lmao. The vibe is cute and cozy, albeit with very limited seating. The owner (I think?) Kevin was also very welcoming to my family and me. It's funny that he also mentioned it’s been a while since he visited Taiwan, just like me fr lmao. I'll be back often, and bring my non-Taiwanese friends here, too. 4.5/5
